The findings, released in the Journal of Kid Psychology and Psychiatry had been based on data collected by the Children of the 90s research based at the University of Bristol. Professor Judy Dunn from the Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College, London, studied 162 kids whose parents got separated, over two years. Of those children, 18 percent had no contact with their father, and 16 percent had contact significantly less than once a complete month. Experts interviewed all 162 children about their romantic relationship with their mothers, fathers and stepfathers. There have been fewer externalising problems based on the child’s romantic relationship with both mom or non-resident father, and based on the level of child-father get in touch with and the quality of this relationship.’ Professor Dunn notes that the amount of contact between a child and a dad was related to the relationship between your parents.
